Here are the genres of music from the songs that I have chosen on my song-a-day blog. Theme Picks

This list contains links to my theme weeks and other odd themes that I sometimes do. I highly doubt that it is complete; as I remember/rediscover other themes that I have done in the past I will add them to this list. I guess I should've made this list a long time ago, it would've saved a lot of hassle. My Theme Weeks (in chronological order): Canadian artist theme week - A week of songs from Canadian artists. Truck driving song theme week - A week of picks that featured song about or related to truck driving. Music I like that others I know do not like theme week - Kind of self-explanatory. "The Five" workweek theme - One song from each member of a group of Russian composers known as "The Five:" Mily Balakirev, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Modest Mussorgsky, César Cui, and Alexander Borodin. Eric Clapton theme week - A week of songs that feature Eric Clapton. "Moon" song theme week - A week of songs with "Moon" in the ti...

Concerning the False Copyright Infringement Mess with the IFPI

I decided I should make a dedicated post that contains all of the information concerning this mess and a time-line of events therein. Here is a summary of what has happened: Apparently the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is on a crusade to rid Blogger of links to downloadable songs. On the 20th of September, 2010 I received notice that one of my posts was supposedly in violation of copyright law; they gave no other information about it, just that it was in violation of copyright law. To be careful I temporarily removed the links to the YouTube videos and the link to the album cover artwork before re-publishing it. Fast-forward to 9/28/2010 and I received a notice that seven more of my posts had been flagged. On 10/11/2010 I received another false accusation of copyright infringement concerning another one of my posts; I have added links to all of the flagged posts in the list at the bottom of this post. After doing some digging I found a copy of one ...

Open Letter To The Complete Lowlife Idiot(s) Who Filed a Copyright Infringement

Today I received notice that a blog post, number 100 to be exact , allegedly infringed upon someone's copyright. I have not been given any other information other than just that. What is odd here is that no one Else's actual "intellectual property" is even on my blog; I am unsure as to what it is referring to because everything in the post was either written by me, therefore my intellectual property, or is linked to another website. I am assuming that they are either mad about my links to the YouTube video with the song, (which belongs to someone Else's Google YouTube account), or perhaps the album artwork, which was hosted by another website. SINCE NO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOT BELONGING TO ME EXISTS IN THE POST IN QUESTION OR ON MY BLOGGER ACCOUNT , I fully intend to file a counter-claim. Whatever the case I have decided to temporarily removed the links to the song on YouTube from the post in question. To these idiots with no life: I hope some day you...

About My Song A Day Blog:

Image
Okay, What is this "Song a Day Blog?" Well, this is a hobby of mine that I have been at for over 18 years now, (since September First, 2007), in which I set aside a few minutes every day to create my ultimate playlist in a diary form, if you will. I try to add a different song each day and share with those who are interested as to why I like the song and the artist that performed it and/or maybe some facts about them. Myself, along with a few others, (the couple others who still remain active), have taken it upon themselves to create and maintain these song-a-day blogs; I highly recommend the other blogs that are linked to in the "Other Blogs I Follow and Find Interesting:" list below.  I have also provided links to the blogs that have gone dormant for one reason or another in the same list as well. Hope you enjoy!

Concerning the links to songs in my blog posts:

The links I provide to studio recordings, live performances, and/or other videos are from YouTube.com unless otherwise noted. They are NOT hosted on or associated with my Song a Day blog in any way; I just link to them and, of course, with how YouTube works, the artist and record company does get paid by them through advertisement revenue. However, with that being said, I do not guarantee that a link even a week old, (or even a day old for that matter), will still work with how delete happy YouTube can be; (especially with studio versions). If a link is missing or the video linked to has been deleted feel free to look it up on YouTube or your preferred service.
