William's Song a Day Blog - est. September 2007

From: Whipped! ; Year: 1992; Genre: Hard Rock Here's another band that's been on my mind for the last little bit; it's a shame that they never got huge, they had some great material. Anyway, most would probably remember Faster Pussycat for their anthemesque hit song House of Pain , but they did have a few other singles out there, just not on the same level. This is a rather fun track to listen to with a great chorus to sing along to whilst playing the record.   Hear Nonstop to Nowhere on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Mountain Labyrinth   My song pick 2 years ago today: David Bowie - Star   My song pick 3 years ago today: Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) - Standing in the Rain My song pick 4 years ago today: David Bowie - Five Years My song pick 5 years ago today: Queen - Tenement Funster/Flick of the Wrist/Lily of the Valley My song pick 6 years ago today: Don Henley - Sunset Grill My song pick 7 years ago ...

From: Wake Me When It's Over ; Year: 1989; Genre: Glam Metal/Hard Rock I hadn't heard this track in ages, (about 15 years or more maybe), and after it started running through my mind, as I normally do, I decided to pick it. Anyway, this is very much 1980s metal with the overdressed, showy music and image to go along with it; a nice piece of nostalgia to take along with me through the day. Hear House of Pain on YouTube.
