3203. The Outfield - Your Love

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/519NVDFab1L.jpg
From: Play Deep; Year: 1985; Genre: Rock/Pop
While working yesterday I happened to hear this song come on the radio; realizing that it was yet another one from a band that I hadn't picked yet I knew I had to. Now that I think about it I should really do a theme week with artists I have not picked from yet; just have to make sure and keep my streak of Funky Fridays going too.
Anyway, I'm getting off track... back to the song I'm choosing today. It's one of those songs that is very much associated with the 1980s, but also has a lot of continued play and popularity since. I've always liked Your Love; it's a nice mellow track with excellent music. Although, one thing that I can never shake when hearing it is that it's very, very similar to Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl in the arrangement and a lot of the music, especially in the bridge section; I don't know, it may be me, but it sounds extremely similar.

3192. Brave Belt - Never Comin' Home

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61%2BNboz1c-L._SS280.jpg
From: Brave Belt II; Year: 1972; Genre: Hard Rock
Out of a good deal of the material on this record this is one of the songs that feature the riff heavy rock that would become the signature sound of 70s hard rock titan that was BTO. Brave Belt II is a bit of a grab bag musically, but has its gems, just more than a bit different; definitely not album oriented rock.
Anyway, Never Comin' Home is one of those songs that's perfect for putting on and relaxing to after a hard day's work; great rhythm and vocals.

3186. Gordon Lightfoot - Carefree Highway

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ne4pre5CL.jpg
From: Sundown; Year: 1974; Genre: Folk Rock
When out and about yesterday I had this song come on; it made me want to pick another one of Gordon Lightfoot's songs. I thought for certain that I had picked this song already, but surprisingly I hadn't. Not only that, but I haven't apparently picked one of his songs since the first year I was blogging; August of '08, #361. Dang, that's been a long while, especially for an artist that I like so much.
Anyway, this is one I've always really liked; one of my top 3 from Gordon Lightfoot. I really love the song's arrangement and his vocals.

3182. Aerosmith - What it Takes

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/711C7gwpbjL._SX522_.jpg
From: Pump; Year: 1989; Genre: Rock
The other day when I was working on my truck I had this song in particular running through my mind for some reason. I immediately put it in my mental queue as a one I should soon be picking.
Definitely it brings back memories of around the time the song was released every time I hear it. I've always liked how What it Takes was written and arranged with the blues/country mixed in with rock to give it a different sound; a bit different sound for an '80s ballad.

3177. Cesar 830 - Bridges

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51mD0I0oztL.jpg
From: Cesar; Year: 1975; Genre: Latin Jazz/Funk
Last night I went to check up on my old bass teacher's discography and discovered this one-off Latin jazz/funk album put together by noted night club owner Cesar Ascarrunz using prominent SanFrancisco Bay Area musicians.
This is one of the first tracks to catch my attention; I love the funky Latin rhythm underneath some light jazz on top. It really makes for an interesting mix to say the least, but it works very well.
