From: Hold Me ; Year: 1984; Genre: Rock/Pop I don't know for sure why, but I felt compelled to revisit Laura Branigan's music today for this song pick on my blog. This is a really good cover of the song originally written and recorded by the German band Alphaville a year prior, sadly this cover apparently did not do as well in the charts or gain as much fanfare as the original. From: Branigan 2 ; Year: 1983; Genre: Synthpop/New Wave I was playing around with some of Laura Branigan's music; I decided to choose another of her songs. This is a different one, it basically is Falco's massive hit Der Kommissar with totally different reworked lyrics. This is not to be confused with After the Fire's English version of Der Kommissar ; same music and arrangements, but completely different lyrics. I've actually been wanting to pick something from Laura Branigan for a while now; I grew up listening to a lot of her music and it has stayed with me over the years.
