William's Song a Day Blog - est. September 2007

From: Resident Alien ; Year: 1995; Genre: Glam Rock Another day of choosing a track that was on my mind; at least I am not picking one in memorandum of a recently deceased artist. (Knock on wood) Here's the song of the band's namesake from their debut studio album. I can only think of a couple of bands that wrote a song named after themselves....     Hear Spacehog on YouTube.         My song pick 1 year ago today: Bruce Springsteen - The Promised Land     My song pick 2 years ago today: Klaatu - Anus of Uranus     My song pick 3 years ago today: Rockwell - Obscene Phone Caller   My song pick 4 years ago today: Zebrahead - Playmate of the Year   My song pick 5 years ago today: Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Mideast Vacation   My song pick 6 years ago today: Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy   My song pick 7 years ago today: Dream Theater - Falls Into the Light   My song pick 8 years ago today: Quarterflash - Nig...

From: Resident Alien ; Year: 1995; Genre: Alternative Rock For some unknown reason I kind of drift toward and away from this band without any pattern, and recently it has been the former, so I decided to pick another one. This one is a rather chill and laid back track that just fits my mood today.   Hear Only a Few on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Duran Duran - New Religion   My song pick 2 years ago today: T. From: Resident Alien ; Year: 1995; Genre: Alternative Rock/Glam Rock After coming to mind the other day and listening to this album again I thought I would choose one from it as this Sunday's pick. Zeroes definitely has a different feel to it from their more mainstream tracks on the record, yet is still similar enough to its brethren but in a bigger package both in length and sound.    Hear Zeroes on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Carmen - Retirando   My song pick 2 years ago today: George Clinton - Last Dance My song pick 3 years ago today: Marillion - Cover My Eyes (Pain in Heaven)   My song pick 4 years ago today: Don Henley - All She Wants to Do Is Dance My song pick 5 years ago today: Brave Belt - Can You Feel It My song pick 6 years ago today: Soundgarden - Rowing My song pick 7 years ago today: Carmen - Joy My song pick 8 years ago today: Alice Mudgarden (Alice in Chains) - Right Turn My song pick 9 years ago today:...

From: The Chinese Album ; Year: 1998; Genre: Glam Rock For some reason unbeknownst to me I felt the urge to pick another one from this often overlooked band. This is one of the singles from their second record, and while not at the same level as the songs on their debut album, it's still an awesome time to be had to sit back and bob your head to these tracks.   Hear Carry On on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Robin Trower - Bluebird   My song pick 2 years ago today: Pleasure - Glide   My song pick 3 years ago today: Wings - Venus and Mars   My song pick 4 years ago today: Pearl Jam - I Got Id My song pick 5 years ago today: Crash Test Dummies - In the Days of the Cavemen My song pick 6 years ago today: Muse - City of Delusion My song pick 7 years ago today: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away My song pick 8 years ago today: Barenaked Ladies - If I Had $1000000 My song pick 9 years ago today: Rush - The Anarchist My song pi...

From: Resident Alien ; Year: 1995; Genre: Alternative Rock I had not heard this song in quite some time until the other day and it immediately brought back some memories; I knew I needed to add it to the old song blog. This is a very infectious track and I really love the tone they're getting from the bass in particular.    Hear In The Meantime on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Rare Earth - Ma   My song pick 2 years ago today: Crash Test Dummies - Swimming in Your Ocean My song pick 3 years ago today: Jethro Tull - A New Day Yesterday My song pick 4 years ago today: Vital Tech Tones - Crash Course My song pick 5 years ago today: Primus - Poetry and Prose My song pick 6 years ago today: Jethro Tull - Budapest My song pick 7 years ago today: Ozark Mountain Daredevils - If You Wanna Get to Heaven My song pick 8 years ago today: Dream Theater - Lie My song pick 9 years ago today: Aerosmith - Home Tonight My song pick 10 years ag...
