I find the O'Jays' ability to take a negative subject matter and with their delivery and, of course, one of the best songwriting duos, Gamble & Huff make it feel uplifting and, dare I say, make it positive somehow. For me songs that are upbeat and ooze with optimism like this one are really big pick-me-ups for down times or when it seems like the entire world is seething with anger. 927 ( The O'Jays - Back Stabbers ) This one came on the radio the other day and I had not heard it in a while. Since it is Friday and every now and then Max celebrates "Funky Fridays" I figured that this Soulful and Funky track would be nice "Funk Friday" pick.
