2004 Mastodon - Blood and Thunder

Image
From: Leviathan ; Year: 2004; Genre: Progressive Metal 2004, (which is also today's song pick number), was a a very good year for music; I had somewhat of a hard time deciding which song to pick. Of course when I remembered that Mastodon released their metal concept album Leviathan , which was based on the classic novel Moby-Dick , I knew I had my pick. This entire album is truly awesome in so many ways; one of the band's best in my opinion. Watch the music video on YouTube. 1883 Mastodon - Oblivion

Image
From: Crack the Skye ; Year: 2009; Genre: Progressive Metal A bit ago I noticed that I've only chosen two songs from this great band; I thought I would add a third today. I've been trying to get more into Mastodon; it's not like I've been trying to find something I like from the band, not at all; I really like what I've heard. It's just been hard to find the time to listen. Anyway, since I'm a fan of their Blood Mountain album I thought I would check out their follow-up: Crack the Skye . To say the least I was impressed and I think I've found myself a new favourite album from Mastodon. Oblivion is one of the main singles off the album; it is one of those songs that's fun to listen to as a musician or just being a metalhead rocking out. Watch the music video on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Van Morrison - Wavelength My song pick two years ago today: Lee Michaels - Do You Know What I Mean? My song pick three years ago tod...

1670 Mastodon - Seabeast

Image
1670 Mastodon - Seabeast From: Leviathan , Year: 2004 Genre: Progressive Metal I'm keeping my 'beastie' theme going yet another day; with only two days left I ought to go ahead and made it a full theme week. Anyway, when I was thinking about what song I would pick today I remembered this one off of Mastodon's Leviathan concept album. For those unaware of Mastodon's Leviathan album, the ' Seabeast ' that they're referring to is the whale from the Herman Melville novel Moby-Dick , which the theme of the album is based on. Here is a music video clip on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Vangelis - Blade Runner (End Titles) My song pick two years ago today: Karussell - Wer Die Rose Ehrt My song pick three years ago today: The Delgados - Accused of Stealing My song pick four years ago today: Bon Jovi - Always +

Hear Capillarian Crest on YouTube. Watch a live performance/music video on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Hot Chocolate - Brother Louie My song pick two years ago today: Rammstein - Frühling in Paris My song pick three years ago today: Jethro Tull - A Small Cigar My song pick four years ago today: Ian Anderson - Calliandra Shade (The Cappuccino Song) +
