From: Sports ; Year: 1983; Genre: Rock There are quite a few songs that I like, but will not really get into an argument with people who dislike or hate that said song, this is one of them. I've always kind of liked it, especially the hard-driving choruses, but as stated, it's just not a full-on favourite of mine. That being said, I believe that this track is unfairly maligned by critics and haters and should be just enjoyed at face value.   Hear The Heart of Rock & Roll on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: War - Why Can't We Be Friends?   My song pick 2 years ago today: The Allman Brothers Band - Sail Away   My song pick 3 years ago today: Soundgarden - Ty Cobb My song pick 4 years ago today: ZZ Top - Got Me Under Pressure My song pick 5 years ago today: Audioslave - Exploder My song pick 6 years ago today: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band - Still the Same My song pick 7 years ago today: Alestorm - Magnetic North My song ...

From: Back to the Future (soundtrack) ; Year 1985; Genre: Rock/Pop Today is the 21st of October, 2015, which is also the date that Doc Brown and Marty McFly traveled to in the second Back to the Future , which is a very, very popular film classic. Whilst in reality "the future" turned out quite a bit different, it was still quite a vision for a time that was 30 years in the future! Now I'm feeling old; I remember when all three movies came out.... Anyway, I figured I should mark the occasion with a very appropriate song; this was one of the two songs that acted as the film's theme and is immediately recognizable and, funny enough, not really a dated song in any way for a 30 year old song. From: Fore! ; Year: 1986; Genre: Rock The other day a whole bunch of Huey Lewis and his band's music came on the radio; I thought I would pick another one of their songs. This song has been running through my mind all morning, so I will take it as a sign that I should add it to my list. It was recorded for the soundtrack of film Back to the Future ; it was played when Marty woke up back in 1985 and was also played during the closing credits. Here is the studio version on YouTube. Here is a live performance on YouTube. +
