William's Song a Day Blog - est. September 2007

From: Plastik ; Year: 1999; Genre: Progressive Metal It has been a seriously busy week for me; hopefully things start slowing down again soon. Whilst driving out and about I had some of the music from this record playing and it caught my attention and I thought I would revisit it. Out of their albums I've heard this one continues to be my favourite; the overall heavy melodiousness and interesting vocals throughout the record, and on this track provide a hook that I personally like.   Hear Kennst Du Mich? on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Rare Earth - 6-3-4-5   My song pick 2 years ago today: Commodores - Nightshift   My song pick 3 years ago today: Pallas - Throwing Stones at the Wind My song pick 4 years ago today: Wolfmother - Mind's Eye My song pick 5 years ago today: Pendragon - If I Were The Wind (and you were the rain) My song pick 6 years ago today: Jethro Tull - Flying Dutchman My song pick 7 years ago today: Stone Temple Pi...

This track features the vocal work of the incomparable Nina Hagen; I've always loved her amazing vocals. She performs an excellent duet in this song with Dero Goi; their vocals compliment each other quite well. Watch the music video on YouTube. A live performance circa '02 on YouTube. For those who don't know about them, Oomph! is one of the granddaddies and originators of musical genre of Neue Deutsche Härte ; even they have had quite a few of their songs attributed to Rammstein. I have just noticed that they have not yet picked one of their tracks; for the life of me I cannot believe that I have picked over 1000 other songs and they have not graced my list. I am probably going to find out quite a few more the further I go into this list. Anyway, this one is quite a beautiful track off of their '98 Plastik album, which Rammstein has erroneously been given credit for by more than a few online. One interesting fact that I have run into whilst doing this theme week is that if you put in a song title of a track misattribued along with Rammstein, Google seems to ...
