William's Song a Day Blog - est. September 2007

From: Zeit ; Year: 2022; Genre: Neue Deutsche Härte For some reason I just felt like listening to some Rammstein, which, for me has been a while. I mean, they come on my phone's playlist and I have chosen a few from them in recent years, but overall I haven't really had the urge. To be brutally honest, it is not an unknown reason as to why, and nothing about the band, it was a certain person who, thankfully, now is no longer in my life killed a lot of wot drove me to enjoy them. I know I shouldn't allow that to occur, but it's easier said than done. Anyway, was listening to their newest record today and found the sound I have always enjoyed, and with it being new to me it brought back that great feeling once again. This was one of the standouts on the record for me.   Hear Lügen on YouTube.         My song pick 1 year ago today: Yes - Survival     My song pick 2 years ago today: The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Stand Back   My song pick 3 years ago t...

From: Ich Hasse Kinder (single) ; Year: 2021; Genre: Neue Deutsche Härte/Industrial Metal Been meaning to pick this more recent song from Till Lindemann's solo endeavour away from the band Rammstein for a while now and am finally getting around to it. Whilst not too dissimilar to the Rammstein sound, there are some differences musically, but not too much to turn off a fan of the band. Lyrically the song is about a man on a long flight having to deal with someone's disobedient child making the flight very unpleasant while the parent of said child ignores their unruly offspring.   Watch the music video on YouTube.
