6209. Asia - Bury Me In Willow

Image
From: XXX ; Year: 2012; Genre: Progressive Rock Kind of immersing myself audibly in this record as of late; kind of a melancholy flavour with it being the final album with the classic lineup after Steve Howe left the band. Although, the magic of those early days are still present especially in the overall feel and sound, but with the almost thirty years after their last with this lineup the musicianship had evolved and thus gotten a great deal better.   Hear Bury Me In Willow on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: Cher - Half-Breed   My song pick 2 years ago today: Robert Knight - Everlasting Love   My song pick 3 years ago today: Parliament - What Comes Funky   My song pick 4 years ago today: Alice in Chains - Grind   My song pick 5 years ago today: Gloryhammer - The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny My song pick 6 years ago today: Dave Edmunds - Girls Talk My song pick 7 years ago today: Sky - Where Opposites Meet My song pick 8 ...

Image
From: Phoenix ; Year: 2008; Genre: Progressive Rock One of the bands that have helped me through the recent blue funk I was in was Asia; their music is very therapeutic for me. 4896. Asia - Anytime

Image
From: Aria ; Year: 1994; Genre: Progressive Rock Picking one today from what is, I suppose, the second incarnation of the band Asia. 4728. Asia - Ride Easy

Image
From: Aurora ; Year: 1986; Genre: Progressive Rock I recently found out about this EP from Asia and got to hear this song for the first time; I immediately liked it. Ride Easy was apparently a rarer "B-side" that only got another release on the Aurora EP. It's a really good song and should've gotten a proper album release in my opinion. I mostly love the mood and feeling throughout; it stirs very complex emotions in the listener. Hear Ride Easy on YouTube. Image
From: Alpha ; Year: 1983; Genre: Progressive Rock Had Asia's Alpha album on my mind today; thought I'd pick one of my favourites off of it. Image
From: Alpha ; Year: 1983; Genre: Progressive Rock Been a busy day thus far and music from the band Asia has been on my mind for some of the time today. Image
From: Asia ; Year: 1982; Genre: Progressive Rock Asia's debut album is another one of those that I like every song on it; I can play it from start to finish without skipping a track. Image
From: Alpha ; Year: 1983; Genre: Rock/Progressive Rock Whilst thinking about which song I should pick today I decided on choosing another one off of Asia's second album: Alpha . From: Astra ; Year: 1985; Genre: Progressive Rock I was in the mood for something from Asia today; this one of the main singles off of their third album and among my favourites from the band. 2134 Asia - Don't Cry

Image
From: Alpha ; Year: 1983; Genre: Progressive Rock I have been tinkering with my car yesterday and since have had mechanic work on my mind rather than a lot of music. However, for no reason whatsoever I started to think about the band Asia and some of their music. Anyway, this one is the main single off of their somewhat maligned Alpha album; it's not a bad song per se, but certainly not their best. Hear Don't Cry on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Queen - Somebody to Love My song pick two years ago today: Rush (Neil Peart) - O Baterista (Drum Solo) My song pick three years ago today: Hawkwind - Zarozinia My song pick four years ago today: Ghostland Observatory - Sad Sad City My song pick five years ago today: The Wallflowers - One Headlight

1905 Asia - Wildest Dreams

Image
From: Asia ; Year: 1982; Genre: Progressive Rock I was drawing a total blank for a song to pick today. I was listening Asia's debut album recently, so a lot of the music therein was still in my mind; I figured that I would go ahead and choose another song from it. Wildest Dreams is one of the lesser singles off this hit laden record that caught my attention the first time. I like the way they disguised a technical song musically in almost mainstream rock trappings, but then that's the way a lot of 80's prog/rock ended up sounding. Here is an animé music video with the studio version on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Don Henley - Dirty Laundry My song pick two years ago today: The Scorpions - Big City Nights My song pick three years ago today: Graham Central Station - Earthquake My song pick four years ago today: John Denver - Season Suite - Fall My song pick five years ago today: Kyu Sakamoto - Sukiyaki ( Ue o Muite Aruko )
