From: Set ; Year: 1982; Genre: New Wave/Synthpop Was drawing a blank today, but off and on for the last little bit I've had some of Thompson Twins' music on my mind, so I am going with that. Apparently there exists three versions of In the Name of Love , but I was only aware of the album cut until now. An extended 12 inch version was made at the time of the initial release, and in 1988 they remixed and released a lengthier version; I have to say, I am still a fan of the original over that remix.   Hear In the Name of Love on YouTube. From: Quick Step & Side Kick ; Year: 1983; Genre: New Wave/Synthpop It's amazing how some bands you like stay back in the dark recesses of your brain for wot seems like an eternity, but then just come out when you least expect it. To my knowledge I have only chosen one other song from the Thompson Twins, and that was at least 13 years ago, or so it would seem. I don't really know why it's been so long, but you just never know when a band or song will shake loose. Anyway, this is one of their bigger hits and actually still gets heard today somewhat; mostly on television show's soundtracks and such. 717 ( Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now ) I guess that I am picking a song that I heard on the radio this morning; I had not heard this one in eons and it was rather nice to hear this song again.
