From: Word Up! ; Year: 1986; Genre: Funk Been listening to Cameo's Word Up! album a lot lately; as always, it's a great pick for a Friday such as this. This one, as with most of their songs from this era, has an excellent danceable groove and beat, which makes for a fun song to have on. From: Emotional Violence ; Year: 1992; Genre: Funk/New Jack Swing/Hip-Hop Felt again like some early 1990s funky music; kind of "homered out" once again by choosing one from a favourite band. There is just something comforting about the familiar sounds of that time that draw me back every now and then. I just cannot hear that New Jack Swing rhythm and not immediately start to move along to it; which makes listening to it in a car very interesting. I thought this amazing piece of the greatest among 1980s funk would fit the bill, which it does and then some.
