4437. Max Roach - Blues Waltz

Image
From: Jazz in 3/4 Time ; Year: 1957; Genre: Hard Bop Jazz/Blues I wanted to listen to some jazz from my favourite era: which is around the mid 50s or so. Max Roach has always been a jazz composer and player that I like to listen to a lot. It's really fun to hear some jazzed-up blues in a waltz time. Hear Blues Waltz on YouTube. 4436. Journey - Kohoutek

Image
From: Journey ; Year: 1975; Genre: Progressive Rock This is an awesome instrumental from Journey, (which I believe is named after the comet that passed by Earth a couple years prior), but it's really not the Journey you'd think of normally. In these, the early years, they were far more jazz/progressive rock in sound. I, personally really like this era of the band, it's so different and so much more virtuosity and technicality put into the music. Hear Kohoutek on YouTube. 4435. Blue Öyster Cult - Perfect Water

Image
From: Club Ninja ; Year: 1985; Genre: Rock I absolutely love the music to this one, but the lyrics in my opinion have just a modicum of something to be desired. The lyrics aren't bad or anything like that, it just can to me feel like it could be used as a commercial for bottled water, but other than that I like this track. Hear Perfect Water on YouTube.
