6255. Green Day - F.O.D.

Image
From: Dookie ; Year: 1993; Genre: Punk Rock This rather silly juvenile "attitude" song was one I remember hearing a lot back in the day, but even more the hidden little ditty All By Myself that followed if you let the CD play.  Anyway, truthfully, it has always made me shake my head how some individuals can demean themselves by taking the time to write and/or play something like a song in "honour" of an individual that he/she hates that much. It really shows just how much space and energy that person is taking up in the life of the individual taking the time to write and/or play for this person who is the object of his/her hate, not to mention it showing the world how much hate and venom the performer of said song has in their heart. Okay, so that being said and all, this is definitely one of those excellent stress relieving tracks where you just crank it up and caterwaul to at the top of your lungs.   Hear F.O.D. on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago tod...

3898. The Network - Roshambo

From: Money Money 2020 ; Year: 2003; Genre: Indie Rock Making somewhat of a quick pick today; one I've been meaning to choose for a while now and now I'm getting around to it. Anyway, this is one of the more recognizable songs from this "alleged" side-project band made up from the members of the band Green Day under pseudonyms. I love the contrasting nature of this to their normal sound; it was probably a breath of fresh air for them and their fans. Hear Roshambo on YouTube. 3296. Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

From: nimrod ; Year: 1997; Genre: Alternative Rock Boy, it's been a while since I visited the band Greed Day, and I thought I should pick another one. Whilst I've had somewhat of a fondness for the raw energy of their early albums such as Kerplunk , there's no arguing that their music had matured a lot by the time nimrod came out. This one really shows it in my opinion and has always been one I've liked since I first heard it; there's something about a song with this high level of emotion both lyrically and musically that really can stir the emotions in the listener as well. Hear Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) on YouTube. 758 ( Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams )

758 ( Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams ) I heard this song on the radio the other day, I intended to pick it that day, but it slipped my mind. I had no particular song in mind for my pick today and I remembered the song, plus I since haven't chosen a Green Day song in a while I figured that I would add it to the list. Probably the somber lyrics and the melancholy sounding music is what I like the most; quite a nice song. In the news, it seems that the feud between YouTube and WMG might be coming to an end! So soon, with luck, be able to add links studio versions of WMG artists as well. Here is the studio version on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: The Delgados - All You Need Is Hate My song pick two years ago today: Tesla - Signs +

Song 383 ( Green Day - Wake me Up When September Ends )

I had a couple of songs in mind for today, but then when I was listening to the radio this morning dodging commercials this song came on and it fit my mood quite well and I like it quite a lot, so I'm making it my pick. While I have never been a full-blown aficionado of Green Day, there is a lot of their work that I like. This is probably not the last time that they will grace my list. Here is the studio version on YouTube. Here is the music video on YouTube. +
