3659. Rage Against the Machine - No Shelter

Image
From: Godzilla: The Album ; Year: 1998; Genre: Funk Metal/Rap Metal This album is without a doubt the best thing to come out of that awful Godzilla movie back in the late '90s. 3657. Rush - Everyday Glory

Image
From: Counterparts ; Year: 1993; Genre: Progressive Rock Even though it's over 20 years old, for some reason I still consider Counterparts as a newer Rush album. Image
From: Machine Head ; Year: 1972; Genre: Hard Rock Had Deep Purple's Machine Head on my mind today and as I normally do I'm picking one from it. Image
From: A Hangover You Don't Deserve ; Year: 2004; Genre: Rock This one's been coming on my playlist off and on for the past two weeks, so I'm taking it as a sign that I should choose it. It's definitely a tongue-in-cheek way to looking at nostalgia; through the eyes of a middle aged individual not wanting to let go of the past. Plus the music is quite catchy and fun to boot. My song pick one year ago today: Neil Young - Computer Age My song pick two years ago today: Johnny Cash - Thirteen My song pick three years ago today: Jethro Tull - Valley My song pick four years ago today: Ian Anderson - Photo Shop My song pick five years ago today: Ozzy Osbourne - Over the Mountain My song pick six years ago today: Ome Henk - Neem Een Ander In De Maling ( Barbie Girl ) My song pick seven years ago today: Weather Report - Cucumber Slumber My song pick eight years ago today: ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin' My song pick nine

3652. Blue Öyster Cult - E.T.I. (Extra Terrestrial Intelligence)

Image
From: Agents of Fortune ; Year: 1976; Genre: Hard Rock Agents of Fortune is a splendid album; had my first copy on 8-Track, which costed me, I believe, 50 cents at a yard sale. Anybody who's listened to 8-Track tapes would know what I'm saying when I "path of songs" or something similar. 3650. The Beach Boys - Sloop John B

Image
From: Pet Sounds ; Year: 1966; Genre: Pop/Rock I've had The Beach Boys on my mind since last night, so I thought I'd pick another one of my favourites. 3649. Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) - Hey You

Image
From: Four Wheel Drive ; Year: 1975; Genre: Hard Rock Wanted to pick a BTO song today; I was surprised when I discovered that Hey You had not been picked yet. From what I understand this was an answer to the trash talk Randy Bachman's former bandmate from The Guess Who, Burton Cummings, who said he'd never make it again in the music industry after he quit the band, but he and BTO definitely did. I absolutely love the mix this song had in the studio; all the instruments are perfectly clear. In particular, C.F. Turner's growling bass comes through perfectly. Hear Hey You on YouTube.
