From: In the End ; Year: 2019; Genre: Alternative Rock Heard some of their music yesterday whilst running errands, which got me thinking about the band once more. Even after half a decade since Dolores O'Riordan's passing, thinking about it still affects me quite a lot. Her voice and music were such a big part of my teenage years and on; probably the same for others. It seems like lately I've been having to say goodbye to a plethora of great musicians that I grew up and was inspired by. However, I shouldn't focus on myself here, but on the incredible gift Dolores gave us that will live on and on. This song has been going through my mind for the last little bit, so I figured that it needed chosen. This is probably The Cranberries' biggest hit and if you were alive in the mid to late 90's this song was unavoidable. The song's subject matter is about the political unrest and blood being spilt in Northern Ireland; specifically an IRA attack that killed two young boys in Warrington, Cheshire England. Thankfully today, for the most part, clearer heads have prevailed in this conflict. The vocals and music really compliment the message of this protest song a lot. Here is the music video on YouTube.
