2192 Slade - Slam the Hammer Down

Image
From: The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome ; Year: 1983; Genre: Hard Rock/Glam Rock The other day I noticed that I haven't picked a song from Slade in quite a long while, so I thought I would. While I have been a fan of their music from the '70s, it took me a bit to get into their material from subsequent decades. I have to say this song and quite a few of the others off of this album sound like they are from one of the hair metal bands of the '80s; I guess it all has to come from somewhere. Hear Slam the Hammer Down on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Stahlhammer - Mensch My song pick two years ago today: Rush - Afterimage My song pick three years ago today: Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice - The Last Supper (From Jesus Christ Superstar ) My song pick four years ago today: Megadeth - Sleepwalker My song pick five years ago today: The Allman Brothers Band - The Whipping Post

Song 410 ( Slade - Mama Weer All Crazee Now )

It has been a very busy Sunday and this song was one that came on my list today. This was the first song that I had ever heard by Slade that introduced me to their sound. This party anthem of sorts is quite rollicking, straight-forward rock. Here is a music video with the studio recording on YouTube. Here is a live performance on YouTube. +

Song 262 (Slade--"Run Runaway")

I love most of what I hear from Slade, but not usually in overly large doses. Anyway, I needed a good rocking song with heavy guitar today and this song really came through for me. Here is the music video on YouTube. +

Song 51 ( Slade - Cum On Feel The Noize )

While Slade is a bit glam they still rock pretty good and this is a good song to play when you want to just rock out. Most people from the younger crowd would probably remember this song as being played by Quiet Riot, however I still like Slade's original version a bit more. Here is the studio version on YouTube.
