5923. Scorpions - Hit Between the Eyes

Image
From: Crazy World ; Year: 1989; Genre: Hard Rock Yesterday I was watching the early 1990s movie Freejack for the first time in a very long while; in well over 25 years I'm sure. I always liked the film, which was in the same vein as the other dystopian science fiction films of the '80s and early '90s; although it apparently wasn't really a box office success, it was still enjoyable with a great cast. Anyway, this song from the Scorpions was played during the ending credits, which I believe was the only licensed track I heard during it. Hit Between the Eyes was actually originally released on their landmark 1989 Crazy World album, which featured a few songs that have become iconic, but as far as I am aware it was never released as a single.   Hear Hit Between the Eyes on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: King Crimson - The Sheltering Sky   My song pick 2 years ago today: Bernard Wright - Just Chillin' Out   My song pick 3 years ago today: Al...

3477. Scorpions - Send Me an Angel

Image
From: Crazy World ; Year: 1990; Genre: Rock This has been one of my favourite albums and songs from the Scorpions. The deep, emotional, and self-exploring lyrics and their delivery is one of the biggest draws for me besides the great arrangement of the music of course, which hides a heavy song in the trappings of a ballad, but is so much more. 2124 The Scorpions - Loving You Sunday Morning

Image
From: Lovedrive ; Year: 1979; Genre: Hard Rock/Metal Yet another busy day; I guess I should just get used to days like this.... Anyway, this morning I happened to hear this track being played, I probably should've waited for Sunday to pick it, but oh well; it just seems like a good song for today's pick. I really like how the verses contrast with the nice, but abbreviated chorus. Hear Loving You Sunday Morning on YouTube. 1615 The Scorpions - The Good Die Young

Image
1615 The Scorpions - The Good Die Young From: Sting in the Tail , Year: 2010 Genre: Hard Rock/Metal On the radio last night they were playing some songs from the Scorpions newer albums; it got me into the mood to listen to them again, so I decided to choose one of my favourites off of their most recent release. It is a rather pretty anthem of a song that sounds similar to that of their material from the '80's-'90's. I recently discovered that they also recorded a version of the song that featured Tarja Turunen, who is the former lead singer of Nightwish, in a duet with Klaus Meine. Hear The Good Die Young on YouTube. Hear the version that features a duet between Klaus Meine and Tarja Turunen on YouTube. 627 ( The Scorpions - Rhythm of Love )

It is weird that I am in the 600s of my list and I have not chosen anything from The Scorpions yet; I will remedy that today. Last night while making a late night store run this song came on the radio. There is so much that I like about this song, it was written and arranged very well in my opinion. Here is the music video on YouTube. Here is a live performance circa '91 on YouTube. There are many more live performances can be found on YouTube as well. +
