5876. Eddie Rabbitt - Every Which Way but Loose

Image
From: Every Which Way but Loose (Soundtrack) ; Year: 1978; Genre: Country I literally grew up watching all of the countless Clint Eastwood flicks and also hearing a lot of Eddie Rabbitt's music; of course I absolutely still love this film in particular to this day. I really cannot remember a true dull moment throughout the movie, just constant laughing at the hijinx and one-liners from start to finish. Anyway, this, of course is the opening title and performed excellent as usual from Eddie Rabbitt, who seemed at the time to be riding a high point in his illustrious career as a singer-songwriter. Wow, all the talk about it has made it so now I need to find and watch the movie again....   Hear Every Which Way but Loose on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: AC/DC - High Voltage   My song pick 2 years ago today: Three Dog Night - Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer   My song pick 3 years ago today: Jethro Tull - Thinking Round Corners   My son...

5448. Eddie Rabbitt - 747

From: Horizon ; Year: 1980; Genre: Rockabilly/Rock/Country/Pop Eddie Rabbitt's Horizon record, the first three songs on it in particular, really brings back some memories for me. I remember my Dad playing this album a lot for my sisters and I, who would I guess you could call it "dancing" to it. We seemed to set the phonograph needle on the first song and let it play through the third track. I believe those three were: I Love a Rainy Night , 747 , and Driving My Like Away ; the rest of the songs I do not remember that well if at all. Anyway, 747 is a perfect example of the country/rock crossover scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s; it really shows that conjunction off in the rockabilly style.   Hear 747 on YouTube.       My song pick 1 year ago today: B.J. 1771 Eddie Rabbitt - I Love a Rainy Night

From: Horizon ; Year: 1980; Genre: Country/Rock For the last couple of days we had some wonderful thunderstorms rumbling across the area. The other night we had an especially feisty one roll through; as I watched it whilst standing in front of the open window this apropos song kept running through my mind. It was quite a nice soundtrack to go along with the claps of thunder that shook the house. Anyway, this was one of Eddie Rabbitt's most popular songs and was part of the Country/Rock crossovers that permeated the late '70s and early '80s. His Horizon album will always have a special place for me; I grew up hearing it quite a bit, well, at least the first 3 songs; those were the ones that got a lot of play in particular. Hear I Love a Rainy Night on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out My song pick two years ago today: Jimmy Dean - Big Bad John My song pick three years ago today: Savatage - If I Go Away My song pick...

644 ( Eddie Rabbitt - Step By Step )

For some reason this song has been running through my mind off and on this entire weekend for, since I do like the song and it is late I will add it to my list. This is one of those country/rock/pop crossover songs from the late '70s/early '80s. As with most love songs it is quite sappy, but a very nice song all the same. Song 68 ( Eddie Rabbitt - Driving My Life Away )

For today's pick on my theme week I am choosing Eddie Rabbitt's Driving My Life Away . This song is off of the Horizon album, which is thought of as his "Rockabilly" album. My siblings and I almost wore this record out when we were very young; we really liked this track and the song 747 . What I really like about this song is the rapid-fire lyrics and the musicianship, which is incredible. This is a very good album and song from an excellent artist; very much a perfect track for my week of truck driving music. Here is the studio version on YouTube.
