609 ( Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way )

This song has besieged me for the last two weeks or so in almost every form of media and today is as good of day as any to choose it. It has always been been one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac songs and in my opinion contains one of John McVie's greatest bass lines; not too flashy, but perfect for the song. I love how they buildup and kick-in in to the chorus in this one, and of course the chorus is excellent as well.

I mean, he's played on a lot of albums from a lot of artists; mainly guitar shredders like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Most would likely know about Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, or Steve Bailey before they'd remember Stu Hamm; not to take a single thing from those axe slingers, he is just every bit as good as them in my opinion. I find the O'Jays' ability to take a negative subject matter and with their delivery and, of course, one of the best songwriting duos, Gamble & Huff make it feel uplifting and, dare I say, make it positive somehow.
