From: Infinity ; Year: 1978; Genre: Rock Definitely a transition album for the band, Infinity marked the beginning of the Steve Perry era of the band, which would launch Journey's career into high orbit. Anytime is my favourite track from the record and really symbolically shows that turning point with how it begins with Gregg Rolie performing lead vocals and at about the one-and-a-half minute mark Steve Perry takes over in grand fashion. From: Modern Man ; Year: 1978; Genre: Jazz Fusion/Jazz Rock For me at least it is always a strange occurrence when I listen to an album I'm already acquainted with, but for some reason, be it my mood, the situation, or just perhaps my ears are just opened more at a given time, who know. Whatever the case, recently I had that experience with Stanley Clarke's Modern Man record; for some reason it just knock me off my feet, so to speak even though I've listened to it many times prior. From: Sunny Days ; Year: 1972; Genre: Progressive Rock/Jazz Fusion Lighthouse has always been one those bands that I like wot I have heard, but have not actually been exposed to a lot of their material. Only every now and then does it hit me to look into more of their music; today, of course, is one of those days.
