7000. Love - 7 and 7 Is

Kind of weird, but it slipped my mind that today would be my 7000th song chosen on my song-a-day blog. I mean I knew it was close and was present in my thoughts, but to be honest, I had some new music on my mind that I've been hyper-focused on over the last little bit, so that most likely has something to do with it.
Okay, anyway, I quickly came up with this often-covered classic with a more or less apt title. Not that this track is an afterthought by any means, which it is obviously not. In fact, I had to check to see if I already had chosen it, and luckily I had not.
There's a lot of different musical ideas present; a lot of teenage angst and energy combined with the wet surf guitar and unique, slightly distorted bass. I suppose at the time it was recorded Love sounded unlike really anything else, so it is not surprising that so many were evidentially influenced by it and recorded their own versions over the decades since.
