2124 The Scorpions - Loving You Sunday Morning

Image
From: Lovedrive ; Year: 1979; Genre: Hard Rock/Metal Yet another busy day; I guess I should just get used to days like this.... Anyway, this morning I happened to hear this track being played, I probably should've waited for Sunday to pick it, but oh well; it just seems like a good song for today's pick. I really like how the verses contrast with the nice, but abbreviated chorus. Hear Loving You Sunday Morning on YouTube. 2123 America - You Can Do Magic

Image
From: View From the Ground ; Year: 1982; Genre: Soft Rock This morning I had this track incessantly running about in my mind; as I normally do, I took it as a sign that I should pick it, plus I like the song and haven't picked a track from America in a while. This was one of America's last big hits and one of the last songs I can remember hearing brand new on the radio, except their music from the animated film The Last Unicorn that is, which I do believe was released a year or so later. Also, this track actually came from the pen of songwriter extraordinaire Russ Ballard , who has an immense amount of hit songs credited to him. 2122 Hawkind - Dying Seas

Image
From: Warrior on the Edge of Time ; Year: 1975; Genre: Space Rock I had a couple of songs in mind for today's pick, however, after reading an article about this album I decided to pick a song off of it as well. Overall, it is a bit difficult for me to pick a single song off of this great record; in my opinion it is greater as a whole than its parts. Anyway, this is a rather nice trip of a song, I really like Lemmy's bass intro; it sets the mood for the song. Hear Dying Seas on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: Quasar - Mission 14 My song pick two years ago today: Derek and the Dominoes - Key to the Highway My song pick three years ago today: David Bowie - All The Madmen My song pick four years ago today: Rush - Finding My Way My song pick five years ago today: Creedence Clearwater Revival - Long As I Can See The Light

2121 Fleetwood Mac - The Chain

Image
From: Rumours ; Year: 1977; Genre: Rock The other day whilst practicing some music I started to play this song and few others from Fleetwood Mac again; it's always quite a lot of fun to revisit some songs I used to play. Since then I've been in the mood to pick one of Fleetwood Mac's songs, so I figured I would check to see what I have picked from the band already. I was a bit surprised to not see The Chain as one I've already picked with it being that it is one that I really like. Interestingly enough originally this was two songs that were fused together into one and is one of the few songs where each and every member of the band at the time contributed to its writing. Hear The Chain on YouTube. Watch a live performance from The Dance on YouTube. My song pick a year ago today: The Grateful Dead - Casey Jones My song pick two years ago today: Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon My song pick three years ago today: Return To Forever - The Magician My song ...

From: Ghost in the Machine ; Year: 1981; Genre: New Wave Darn, it has been a busy weekend; hopefully tomorrow will slow down a bit.
