I cannot begin to count the amount of times people have asked me: "Who did that song Squeeze Box?" Most are usually surprised that it is from Pete Townshend's pen. Squeeze Box doesn't have the sound from The Who that most casual fans are expecting; the confusion might also due to their use of a banjo in this song.
For those who are unaware, a Squeeze Box is a slang term given to a Concertina or, in some cases, and Accordion or any other hand-held instrument operated with bellows. However, this song is filled with loads of innuendo and word play; they are not completely referring to the musical instrument.
