Today I happened to look through a list of music written in or around the year 1732, which is the song pick number for today, and saw this comedic pieces of music from the master composer J.S. Bach. Whoever said that classical music is bereft of hilarity or that composers were stuffy old men from history without a sense of humour have not really delved very deep into music at all.
Schweigt Stille, Plaudert Nicht, (Be Still, Stop Chattering), which is also referred to as "The Coffee Cantata" is a satirical cantata about being addicted to coffee; from what I understand during that time coffee addiction was a pressing social issue.
