This one has been running through my mind off and on for the last little bit and it just feels like an excellent Friday pick for me. This is one of my favourite Wilson Pickett tracks; he sings this song with so much soul.
There is an interesting piece of musical trivia concerning this song: co-writer of the song, guitarist Steve Cropper, who composed the intro to this song also composed the intro to the Eddie Floyd song Knock on Wood. The interesting part is that the intro to "Knock on Wood" is the same as the intro to "In the Midnight Hour" only played reverse.
