From: The Coasters; Year: 1957; Genre: R&B/Doo-Wop/Rock 'n Roll
Smoky Joe's Cafe just keep showing up on shuffle for me when out driving; I've always really liked this song and thought I'd already picked it. I checked and sure enough I hadn't yet, so I have my pick today so it would seem.
This is one of those songs that seems a lot longer than it actually is; it's just so engaging and the story draws you in. But the way the vocals are done and the great, danceable R&B music just makes Smoky Joe's Cafe a definite classic and one of my all time favourites.
