6483. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do
![]() |
| From: Frampton Comes Alive!; Year: 1976; Genre: Rock |
I can only think of two other times off the top of my head where a band's "breakout" album was a live one; the other two are Kiss and Cheap Trick. Interestingly enough, for at least myself, I actually have been gravitating toward live releases over the studio counterparts. Mostly this is because in more recent releases they've become "too clever" with all of the toys and tools at their disposal and have really all but sucked out the human element out of the music. Even with live records, of course, they still add a load of all sorts of processing and other gizmos, but most of the time it is way better than wot they did in the studio.
Anyway, picking a Frampton tune; this was the closing one from his monster hit album, and I believe, for at least me anyway, was the first time I heard a talk-box used. Others have used it before, since the late 1930s I believe. It is one of those guitar-driven anthems that, even if you are at home with headphones on, makes you want to pull out your lighter and raise it high.
