Had the "money lick" line played on surf organ in this song running incessantly in my mind over the last few days. There are a few songs with a similar hooky organ line, so remembering which song it was took a little bit of mental work to zero in on which one it was. I finally had to just sit down and let the entire song play out and finally some of the vocal melody played from my memory and I had it!
It is a rather fun track to listen to that has just about off of the hallmarks across the board to reel the listener in and make it memorable to boot. The Swingin' Medallions' recording is actually not the first and subsequently has been covered many times since by other artists. Funny how this one was banned in certain places due to lyrical content, but, as usually happens, it became a hit song anyway.

Okay, What is this "Song a Day Blog?" Well, this is a hobby of mine that I have been at for over 18 years now, (since September First, 2007), in which I set aside a few minutes every day to create my ultimate playlist in a diary form, if you will.
