Never knew that this track was a cover; always was under the impression that it was a Hall & Oates original. Mike Oldfield, who was also one of the song's writers, recorded and released it just prior. I learned of Blue Mink through the works of bass great Herbie Flowers, who is among my favourite masters of the musical instrument. I wanted to pick this funky number, which was a single from just prior to the band calling it quits. Kind of neat how, even with them being a successful band, they continued with their side work of being session musicians during Blue Mink's run. I love bands like these where they are essentially a "supergroup," but instead of already successful musicians joining forces, these are successful musicians in the making that would go on elsewhere for it.
