I'm feeling as if I almost need another weekend to recover from this extremely busy weekend; I feel as if I have wheels attached to my body.
Anyway, here is one of the songs that I heard at some point whilst driving this weekend and is about as perfect a song to complete my Sunday as my lethargic mind can think of.
This is actually quite a beautiful track and yet somewhat raucous at the same point. I love how it's rather mellow in the verses and builds and gets a bit rowdy in the chorus and softly comes back down.

From wot I've read this was either the first or one of the first songs written by Jim Morrison for The Doors. It is very much an odd composition with the weird groove and, of course, Jim Morrison's out-of-this-world lyrics/vocals. It is just the great kind of weird just how well country/western and funk go together. A lot of people probably see the two musical genres as not related, but since both genres are children of of blues so to speak they have much more in common than not and thus go together like peanut butter and jam. As I've said before blues is one powerful and all-encompassing musical school and can bond together a great deal; and not just music either. Tony Joe White really does well using the whole "jilted lover done wrong" idea by comparing their relationship to that of a black widow spider and her usually soon-to-be-dinner mate. It is driven by Keith Emerson's honky tonk ragtime-inspired piano playing that gets more and more complex as the song goes on.
