Song 399 ( The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary )

I have been deluged by this song from what seems like all directions for the last little bit, so I figured that I should add it to my list. I love Ian Astbury's vocals, he put a lot into it in this song. The abundant amount of hooks and the overall smoothness of the song makes it quite nice for common listener as well as most musicians.

From: Broadsword and the Beast ; Year: 1982; Genre: Hard Rock/Progressive Rock This excellent record was on my mind once more today; was bemused to learn that there were songs from it that I had yet to pick, imagine that! 😁 The overall faster tempo and virtuosity really sell the whole idea of two passionate individuals, probably a couple, coming to extreme disagreement complete with public displays of such tantrums. I find a lot of this material that is mostly marginalized to be quite exceptional in reality. I don't know what it is about this song, but it's just one that makes you want to sing and dance along with it. And of course you have Steve Stevens showing off his severely underrated guitar mastery. Funny though, a long time ago I started changing his "More!" lyric into "Moe!," as in the leader of The Three Stooges .
