1314 Ed Bogas & Merl Saunders - The Riot

1314 Ed Bogas & Merl Saunders - The Riot
From: Fritz the Cat Soundtrack, Year: 1972

Getting another Funky Friday pick in today with this instrumental piece. Over the last little bit I've been doing a little research into all of the projects composer/musician Ed Bogas has been in; I knew that he worked on quite a few movie and television soundtracks over the years.
Anyway, this was one of his earlier soundtrack recordings that came from the satirical and rather vulgar adult cartoon: Fritz the Cat. As many probably know, or maybe don't know, Ed Bogas would later do the music for another, and much more popular, cartoon cat: Garfield.
The soundtrack for Fritz the Cat is simply an excellent collection of music for anyone who likes: Soul, Funk, R&B, or related genres. I was somewhat surprised when I was able to find some of the songs on YouTube.

Hear the studio recording with album cover on YouTube.
