4337. C.W. McCall - Four Wheel Drive

From: Wolf Creek Pass; Year: 1975; Genre: Country
Man, this song brings back some memories... when I was really young I loved C.W. McCall's music a lot. Singing about driving trucks and cars and other related subjects; I guess you could call it "working man's country and western." When I was little I loved that subject matter a lot.
Anyway, this is one of his better-known ones about running from the police off road in a hot rod CJ-5 Jeep. Whilst there's music behind the entire track, C.W. McCall does his normal talk-singing, kind of a "country/rap" thing I guess you could call it. Four Wheel Drive is mostly remembered for the line: "CJ-5 Four Wheel Drive, Smokey on my Tail."
