Explorers Club just happened to be on my mind yesterday, and after listening to this album again I thought I would pick one from it.
This one comes in the middle of the five-song "opera"/concept album and at just over 8 minutes in length it is the briefest of the selections. As with the rest of the album, it features the many of the who's who of technically inclined musicians concerning hard rock and metal. Impact 3 is one of two tracks that features Dream Theater's James LaBrie on vocals; his bandmate John Petrucci also played lead guitar on the entire record.

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. From wot I understand the title and main idea of the song was borrowed from a sermon by a popular preacher at the time, Father Divine , which translated very well into an upbeat song. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
