6092. The Meters - Liar

From: Fire on the Bayou; Year: 1975; Genre: Funk/Soul/R&B
Don't know why, but this just felt like a good song for my pick today. This is, of course, a cover of the song written and originally recorded by Russ Ballard with the band Argent and later made famous by Three Dog Night. The Meters really added a lot to it with their funk and R&B style, plus, adding another couple of minutes to the track's length to add to the instrumental sections to enhance the dancing aspects was a great move in my opinion.
