6090. Bloodrock - D.O.A.

From: Bloodrock 2; Year: 1972; Genre: Hard Rock/Progressive Rock
Here's an interesting one; a story-driven song written around a tragedy in which the protagonist details what he sees and feels whilst slipping away after an aeroplane crash. Got to love the hard rock tour 'd force driven by that awesome rhythm section and the Hammond Organ; the way they fade with the lowering pitch really sells the ending, and of course that beloved sound of a Hammond Organ winding down with the final chord was a stroke of genius.
