This is another one of those songs composed about 90 years ago in the vein of fantasizing about a far away and exotic land, in this case Japan. The song was composed by Richard A. Whiting with lyrics by Raymond B. Egan circa 1920 and was recorded by numerous artists; I really like Nora Bayes' beautiful vocals in her interpretation of the song.
