I was in the mood for some Black 47 this morning; this rather raucous yet upbeat track seem to fit my mood the best.
As with all of their music this one contains many different musical styles and influences, but their Punk influence is very prominent in this one. I absolutely love the way they tell the story contained in the song in a humorous way and make the chorus a singalong for the audience as if you were in a pub listening to them live.

I love bands like these where they are essentially a "supergroup," but instead of already successful musicians joining forces, these are successful musicians in the making that would go on elsewhere for it. From: Freak Out! ; Year: 1966; Genre: Psychedelic Rock/Progressive Rock Some very early progressive rock here, to some Freak Out! is considered to be the very first Prog Rock/Concept album. Who Are the Brain Police? is an interesting one; I love the loosely defined 3/4 waltz that lends more of an uneasy insane feeling than that of a dance. On that base Zappa and company build a strangely, but at the same time a well-constructed piece of music complete with zombiesque singing.
