Probably most are aware by now that E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons passed away over the weekend. Apparently the cause of his passing was due to complications from a stroke he suffered back on June 12th. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and loved ones.
While I've never been an aficionado of Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band I've always been a fan of his music and usually turn it up when one of his songs pop on the radio. Anyway, this is one of my favourites from his catalogue, which features a nice Clarence Clemons saxophone solo.

However, whilst I've never really followed the band closely, this one has had a unique impact on myself with having someone so close to my age pass away.  Enough about that now; as you probably surmised and already know, Brad Arnold, singer/songwriter for 3 Doors Down lost his battle with cancer. At least this time I knew the name of the band that recorded it, so that really expedited the process of finding it again. 1411 Nightwish - Last of the Wilds (Erämaan viimeinen) From: Dark Passion Play , Year: 2007 Genre: Symphonic Metal/Folk Metal Been meaning to pick another Nightwish track for a while now. This is quite a neat track, the Uilleann bagpipes really add a lot to the sound. The song actually has two versions: Last of the Wilds is an instrumental, which was released worldwide on their Dark Passion Play album. Erämaan viimeinen is essentially the same song with vocals sung in Finnish; this version apparently was only released in their native Finland. 1298 L'Arc~en~Ciel - Spirit Dreams Inside Continuing my week of picking songs from dormant or dead song a day blogs with pick #3; this one comes off of Niveous' 10kdays blog . It's one of the oldest song a day blogs associated with the Song Fight community and is one of the blogs that went the furthest before stopping, (at 1070 total songs picked); his last pick was a little over a year ago on the 7th of February, 2010. His blog was one of the ones that I followed pretty close mostly because of variety of music he posted, plus he was one of the only other bloggers to post J-Rock/J-Pop music, which leads me to the song that I'm picking from his archives today. This was his 397th pick and was part of a J-Rock A-Z theme.
