I needed something odd to listen to on this Saturday, I looked no further than the legendary Space Rockers: Hawkwind for my pick. This is a rather macabre song from their Church of Hawkwind album; the more I listen to it the more I like it.
As with most of this album, being that it was produced by "Dr. Technical" himself, (one of Dave Brock's pseudonyms), this song has a decided electronic sound and feel to it .
The talk-sung vocals compliment the macabre lyrics perfectly. This is quite a fun song to sing out loud in mixed company."Flesh fondue main course stew, of his unearthly human crew."

This one seems to be among the rarer songs from the compilations; all I can really find out about it is that it was recorded at the end of the 1960 and released in either '70 or '71. He really did a service to us fans of these obscure and forgotten tracks; apparently an original 45rpm single runs upward of $90 plus as far as I can tell. Anyway, if you like some real raw, unfiltered funk this one will be right up your alleyway. From: A New Time - A New Day ; Year: 1968; Genre: Psychedelic Soul Don't know wot it is like elsewhere in the world, but today marks the start of Daylight Savings Time over here, which really sucks. I felt the need to pick something more appropriate for the occasion. One of the first tracks that came to mind was The Chambers Brothers' classic Time Has Come Today , which I had already picked. However, on the followup album they had this apt title track, which absolutely fit wot I needed, and love those lead vocals a lot. Whilst I have never gotten full-on into this band, every time I hear one of their tracks immediately I like it.
