I was in the mood to listen to something from BTO this morning and I ended up going for something from Randy Bachman and C.F. Turner's 2010 album of their namesake.
It still amazes me how all of the songs on this album sound like they belong right along side their hits from the mid '70s Not Fragile/Four Wheel Drive era; mostly because of C.F. Turner's powerful vocals, which have not faded one bit.

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. From wot I understand the title and main idea of the song was borrowed from a sermon by a popular preacher at the time, Father Divine , which translated very well into an upbeat song. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
