Heard this great track the other day whilst out and about once again, which seemed like a perfect pick. It's interesting how it seems that the late-great David Bowie was about the only one who could write and perform a space rock song and it would become extremely popular hit. This record is loaded with great memorable tunes and this one is at or near the top in my opinion. There's not one single aspect of this song that I dislike; such a great song.

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. From wot I understand the title and main idea of the song was borrowed from a sermon by a popular preacher at the time, Father Divine , which translated very well into an upbeat song. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
