6384. Three Dog Night - Time To Get Alone
![]() |
From: Celebrate: The Three Dog Night Story, 1965-1975; Year: 1993 (1967); Genre: Pop/Rock |
Back when I was just getting serious about compiling my own music collection this collection of classic Three Dog Night songs happened to be released at about that point. Whilst it has all of the "greatest hits" from the band, there were also a few unreleased and solo tracks from two of their lead singers on it, which I thoroughly enjoyed listening to. This is one of the unreleased songs that predates the band when they were still going by the moniker "Redwood." Originally written by Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys for Redwood; it was recorded, but as stated, never saw a release until this time. The Beach Boys would end up recording their own version for their 1969 album 20/20, which Three Dog Night singer Danny Hutton played the piano on it.
Anyway, this very much a late '60s pop song with a mechanical waltz time with their signature three-piece harmony/lead.
