This piece comes from one of my favourite scenes in Webber and Rice's greater Passion Rock Opera. I have always loved the music in this scene; the way they go from a mellow, almost sacred sound to a Rock/Soul/Funk provides an excellent hook.
The original film version of the music featuring Ted Neeley (Jesus) and Carl Anderson (Judas) is my personal favourite, the others just don't sound nearly as good in my opinion. All the way through the opera Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson are incredible, especially Carl Anderson; he had an amazing voice.
