I was thinking about a few other songs to pick today, but none of them seemed quite right. After a bit I thought I would pick a song from one of the bands I've been listening to a lot of lately.
This is a semi-rare track that comes off of their Leviathan EP, which was released the same year as their first album, (Captain Morgan's Revenge), under the Alestorm name. This one is more of a straight-ahead heavy metal song than a lot of their other material, but still has their unique sound and, of course, lyrical content.

Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style. Had a couple of other songs in mind for this minor holiday, (that is, if you can call it an actual holiday), but had this one just pop into my head while I was getting ready to pick.
