The other day my wife happened to wake me up playing this rather excellent cover of this ELO classic, of course this was before I was having to work a 10 hour shift. After that I had trouble getting back to sleep, so suffice it to say I was quite exhausted and as a bonus I had the song running through my mind all of the day, which was fine; it's a very good song and I absolutely love Emma Pollock's vocals.

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. From wot I understand the title and main idea of the song was borrowed from a sermon by a popular preacher at the time, Father Divine , which translated very well into an upbeat song. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
