Since waking up this morning I've had a myriad of Heart songs running through my head. After a while I started getting a bit curious as to what their current sound was like, so I looked up their latest work. For more than a few years I haven't really kept up with what Heart was up to. I'm pleased to say that their current sound is somewhat similar to their classic hard rock sound.
Anyway, here's the title track from last year's release: Fanatic; I'm still amazed at the sheer amount of amazing music that came out last year.

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
