5560. Charlie Ryan - Hot Rod Lincoln

Most who know of this proto rock 'n roll tune would probably remember the cover of the song from 1971 by Commander Cody, but this one here by Charlie Ryan was the original. Interestingly enough, he wrote this song as an answer to a song titled Hot Rod Race by Arkie Shibley, but was apparently somewhat autobiographical concerning the titular car that was based on a street race between Charlie Ryan's own hot rod Lincoln and a friend's Cadillac. This is also among the first songs to kick off the whole hot rod rock 'n roll tune craze that essentially continues to this day.

Okay, so, in the past I really wasn't one that cared for Valentine's Day; just seemed too commercial and felt like one of those occasions where society seemingly punishes the lonely people who hadn't a "sweetheart." 1411 Nightwish - Last of the Wilds (Erämaan viimeinen) From: Dark Passion Play , Year: 2007 Genre: Symphonic Metal/Folk Metal Been meaning to pick another Nightwish track for a while now. This is quite a neat track, the Uilleann bagpipes really add a lot to the sound. The song actually has two versions: Last of the Wilds is an instrumental, which was released worldwide on their Dark Passion Play album. Erämaan viimeinen is essentially the same song with vocals sung in Finnish; this version apparently was only released in their native Finland.
